travel: Barceló Santiago Tenerife

7/3/15

After 4 stressful weeks at university my friend Anne and I went to Tenerife for a week full of relaxing, tanning and eating. Normally I’m not a fan of package travels but when we found the Santiago Barceló Hotel via FTI for a little over 500€ (with flight), we decided to go for it. After all we did need some rest after the final exams in our Bachelor’s degree. We both passed by the way; whoooop whooooooooooop!

After a long journey we arrived around 10pm on Saturday night and that’s when they told us that there’s been a problem with our room thus we had to spend the night in another hotel in the village. As I was tired and very hungry I didn’t like the sound of that at all but when they told us that we’ve been upgraded to all inclusive to make up for the inconvenience AND after we had dinner, my mood got lighter again.

Waking up on Sunday morning at the Los Gigantes Hotel we had the perfect view onto the sea and onto our actual hotel. It was breathtaking! As we didn’t want to loose time we took the taxi back to the Barceló Santiago, had breakfast and went to the pool before getting the keys to our room around noon. Our room was pretty standard but the view from the balcony onto the sea was unbeatable!

We had the most relaxing week! The food was really good (3x day buffet) – I ate way too much; oops. One of the reasons I don’t like to book all inclusive (or people who book it) is because I hate it when people waste food! If you take something from the buffet than please don’t take it in large quantities if you’re not sure you like it! However, I have to say that people were quite civilized in the hotel – I haven’t noticed that particular ‘put everything on your plate, take a bite and leave the rest’ behavior, which pleased me very much.

The view from our sunbeds was incredible as well; comparable to front row seats to watch the sea! Also the beach isn’t very far away as we noticed on our second morning run.

Okay enough now, but if you ever want to spend quiet holidays somewhere, this is the place! It’s a great price/performance ratio and the stuff is really helpful and friendly. And as I said – the views are unbeatable! Take a look at the pictures and you’ll see.

No 4 laangen stressegen Wochen voller Examen op der Uni haten d’Anne an ech eis eis Vakanz méi wéi verdéngt – zemools well mer eisen Bachelor alles 2 gepackt hunn. Mier waren pauschal op Teneriffa, eppes wat ech well éiweg net méi gemaach hunn; eng komplett Vakanz. Mee den Deal vun Fluch mat Hotel an Hallefpensioun fir e bëssen iwwer 500€ fir eng Woch war dunn awer ze verlockend. An ech muss soen sou eng ganz roueg Vakanz huet gutt gedoen.

Mier sinn Samschdes Owes géint 10, no enger laanger Rees (4h30 Fluch& iwwer 2h30 Bus -  ech verdroen Bus nëmmen ganz schlecht) am Hotel ukomm. Leider kruten mer dunn do gesot dass et een Problem mat eisem Zëmmer géing ginn an dass mer déi éischt Nuecht an engem aneren Hotel am Duerf missten verbréngen. Des Norecht huet eis net immens gefreet well mer midd waren an extrem Honger haten. Wéi se dunn awer soten dass mer wéint den Ëmstänn een Upgrade zu All Inklusive géingen kréien fir d’Woch an nodeem mir gees hunn, war et mer dunn awer relativ egal. Mier hunn d’Nuecht an engem schéinen Zëmmer vum Hotel Los Gigantes verbruecht an Moies wéi mer erwächt sen hunn mer gesinn wéi wonnerschéin d’Vue vum Balkon war. Mier waren direkt beim Mier. Ouni vill Zäit ze verléieren sinn mer dunn zréck an eisen Hotel den Santiago Barceló, hunn Kaffi gedronk an eis bei de Pool geluecht (d’Missioun brong ginn war domat gestart) an kruten dunn géint Mëtteg den Schlëssel fir eist Zëmmer. Zëmmer war ganz normal, Standard. Mee d’Vue !!!! Mier waren rëm direkt beim Mier an hunn op déi riesech Fielsen gesinn (los Gigantes).

Mier haten eng super relaxeirend Woch, mat vill Sonn, Schlof an Eessen haha. 3 mol den Dach een super Buffet – jo ech hunn absolut ze fill gees. Wat ech virun engem hallwen Joer nimools hätt kennen maachen. Et schéngt rëm bëssen Bierg rop ze goen mam Bauch:). Ech war bis elo ni all inklusive an d’Vakanz, well ech et einfach haassen wéi d’Leit sech dann behuelen. Drop an derwidder eesen an drénken, an wann méiglech den Teller iwwer voll maachen fir dono awer alles leien ze loossen – sou eppes geet mir guer net. Gottseidank waren d’Leit hei all ziviliséiert an hunn sech net opgefouert wéi wann se keen Gehir hätten.

Ok lo geet et duer mam Text, ech loossen eech puer Fotoen hei, dann kritt der een bessert Bild. Mee falls der emol eng roueg Vakanz sicht, mat engem super Präis Leeschtungs Verhältnis dann ass dësen Hotel menger Meenung no absolut dat richtegt. D’Personal war super hëllefsbereet an fein an vun der Vue hunn ech jo lo well genuch geschwäermt.

outfit: festival attire #enmodefestival

6/19/15
When the WAM Team contacted me asking if I was interested in creating a festival look, I didn't have to think twice - of course I was. At first I wanted to create something boho inspired but after taking a look at my closet I decided to go for something a little bit more rock 'n roll. I built the outfit around my old beloved Mezura Boots (which are unfortunately almost in pieces). I decided on khaki shorts,a cut out tank top and a few accessories. Special thanks to my sister who let me borrow her Cambridge Satchel once again ;)
When I met up with Carmen to take the outfit pictures (2 weeks ago that was), I decided that I wanted to shoot them in front of a Graffiti Wall... it's quite unusual for me to shoot in front of something so colourful but I think the pictures turned out ok - even though I like the simple backgrounds better ;)
How do you like them? What would you wear to go to a Festival?

Mezura boots (old), Zara shorts&shirt (similar here & here and ON SALE), Forever XXI top (similar here),
Cambridge satchel bag(get it here - ON SALE), Casio watch (get it here), Vintage sunnies (similar here), Dcer flash tattoo (get them here)

Wéi Team vun WAM mech kontaktéiert huet fir ze froen op ech wéilt bei engem neien Projet matmaachen andeems ech ee Festival Look zesummestellen hunn ech net missen zweemol nodenken. Ech sot direkt zou. Haut ass et dann souwäit, ech an nach aner Blogger weisen eech wat mir géingen undoen fir op ee Festival. Am Ufank wollt ech usech e bëssen eppes méi boho méisseges undinn, e bëssen méi verspillt/romantesch mat Blummen an den Hoer. Mee wéi ech bis an mäin Kleederschaf gekuckt hunn, hunn ech mech awer schnell emdecidéiert. Den Outfit ass elo e bëssen méi rockeg, mat enger futtisser kuerzer Box, ales Stiwwelen an engem Tank Top. Hai muss ech menger Schwëster awer och rëm Merci soen dass ech seng Posch konnt léinen, ech hat neemlech keng passend.
Wéi ech d’Carmen zu Ettelbréck getraff hunn fir Fotoen ze maachen, hat ech schonn d’Idee fir d’Fotoen virun enger Mauer mat Graffiti ze maachen. Mier hunn eis also op den Daichwisen getraff an d’Fotoen do gemaach. Se sen villllll méi faarweg wéi een dat unsech vu mir gewinnt ass, an ech muss och soen dass et fir mech ganz ongewinnt ass. Mee denken mer fir eng Kéier ass et ok ;)
Wéi fannt dier d'Fotoen an wat géingt dier undoen fir op ee Festival?

outfit: finish line

6/15/15
Today I'm gonna keep my text short as I have 3 more exams in the next 3 days. However, I wanted to update the blog by showing you the outfit pictures I took with Carmen on Saturday. I was on my way to go grocery shopping, so I kept it casual - with a little more make-up than usual.
I'm so happy that I can see the finish line of my third year in my Bachelor's program! Summer's just around the corner and on Saturday I'm going away for a week. Can't wait!

Oh and btw, I did change my hair but unfortunately it didn't turn out as I wanted it too... it should have turned out more greyish. Maybe next time I'll go grey But at least for now my family is happy that I didn't come home with grey hair ;)
As many of you were asking which hairdresser I go to: it's Blow Hairdressing in Brussels. I've been trusting them with my hair colour for over two years now and I'm very happy with their work (the fake blondes among you may know how hard it is to find someone who gives your hair that natural blonde)
Converse (get them here), Mango Jeans, Zara Top, H&M Blazer (similar here), LeSpecs Sunnies (get them here), Parfois Bag (similar here), Casio watch, Asos Cuff (get it here), Asos Necklace (get it here)

Ech halen mech haut kuerz well ech net vill Zäit hunn. Elo sinn et nach 3 Deeg mat 3 Examen bis ech et endlech, fir lo mol, hannert mer hunn! Ech wollt eech awer schnell des Fotoen weisen déi ech een Samschden mam Carmen zu Ettelbréck gemaach hunn. Ech war ënnerwee fir akafen ze goen, also hunn ech mäin Outfit ganz relax gehal, mat just e bëssen méi Make-up wei üblech.

Ech sinn sou sou frou dass d’Examen gläich riwwer sinn! An en Samschden fléien ech schonn an d’Vakanz, yay:)

Oh an jo, ech war bei de Coiffeur, mee leider ass et net ganz sou ginn wei ech dat gär gehat hätt. Ech wollt dass se méi gro gi wären. Mee opmanst ass meng Famill frou dass ech net mat groen Hoer heem komm sinn. An elo bleiwen se och mol eng Zäitchen sou, am Summer ginn d'Hoer jo bekanntlech souwisou nach e bëssen méi hell duerch d'Sonn. Ech vertrauen wann et op d'Farw fun mengem Hoer ukënnt zenter iwer 2 Joër lo Blow Hairdressing zu Bréissel. Si kréien mäin blond ëmmer super  natierlech hin wat dach awer schwéier ass :)
